Prof. Mike Matsebula — Chairman

<p>Professor Mike Matsebula, the Chairman of the ESE Board, is an independent economist. He retired from the position of CEO at the Eswatini Sugar Association (ESA) where he served for 19 years. Previously, he was an Economics Professor at the University of Eswatini. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in 1972 at the then University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland (now National University of Lesotho); completed his Master's Degree in Economics at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada in 1975; and completed his Doctorate Degree in Economics at Queen's University, Ontario, Canada in 1981. He has published extensively on various issues related to the Eswatini economy, regional economic integration as well as international economic relations. He has made several presentations at national and international conferences. Over the period 1976-98, he conducted a total of 42 consultancies. Professor Matsebula has sat in more than 34 boards.</p>

<p>Ms. Philile Nxumalo, General Manager: Finance, at the Central Bank of Eswatini since 2015. Prior to that Ms. Nxumalo was employed by Standard Bank in 2009 first, as Manager: Corporate and Investment Credit Evaluation; promoted to Head: Credit in 2012; then Head: Risk in 2013; and eventually; Head: Personal Markets and Channels in February 2015. Before joining the Banking sector, she was a Business Analyst for the Eswatini Electricity Company in 2008. She first cut her teeth in the audit environment when she joined the audit firm KPMG where she spent 6 years as an Audit Assistant and later, Audit Manager. Ms. Nxumalo has a BA in Accounting from the Witwatersrand University, a Higher Diploma in Auditing, Accounting and Related Services from UNISA, and did an Oxford Fintech Programme on Banking and Financial Support from the University of Oxford. Ms Nxumalo was admitted as a member of the South African Chartered Accountants Institute in 2005.</p>

<p>Annette Singleton Jackson, Ph.D. is the Director of Global Education Programs and Associate Professor of Marketing at Claflin University, South Carolina, USA. An avid participant in community service, Professor Jackson was the Fulbright U.S. Scholar to Eswatini where she worked tirelessly to secure sponsorships for classroom and computer lab renovations. She is a current Fulbright Scholar Alumni Ambassador. Annette has dedicated most of her adult life to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. She earned a B.S. In Economics from Florida A&M University and a Ph.D. of Marketing from Florida State University. She has published a book about the School of Business and Industry and several journal articles and academic presentations. She is a proud resident of kaNgcamphalala in Mahlabatsini, Siphofaneni.</p>

<p>Ms. Nonhlanhla Nxumalo is an experienced Senior Financial Analyst with a demonstrated history of working in government administration and the accounting industry. She is skilled in Financial Analysis & Reporting, Budgeting, Customer Service, Corporate Finance, and Strategic Planning. She is an Accounting & Finance Professional with a B Comm Accounting degree from the University of Eswatini and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from ESAMI. Ms. Nxumalo has been Senior Finance Officer with the Ministry of Finance since 2015. Prior to that she was an Accountant with the Accountant-General's Department for 14 years.</p>
Mr. Panuel Gwebu — Member

<p>Mr. Panuel Gwebu has held the position of Chief Compliance Officer at First National Bank Eswatini since January 2020. Prior to that, he was appointed as Compliance Officer at Nedbank Eswatini in 2004, culminating in his promotion to the role of Company Secretary and Head of Legal in 2008. Mr. Gwebu was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of Eswatini in 2001. He practiced as a litigation attorney with S. A. Nkosi & Company. He later took employment with P. M. Shilubane & Associates, also as a litigation attorney prior to his appointment to Nedbank. Mr. Gwebu has operational experience within the securities ecosystem having served for over 16 years as a member of the ESE’s Market Committee (the technical committee administering the listings rules and regulations within the ESE). He acquired BA and LLB degrees from the University of Eswatini, a Post Graduate Diploma in Compliance Management and, certificates in Board Governance and Money Laundering Control, among others.</p>
